Announcing My Halloween/Costume Blog Party ~ 2018!

Hello Everyone!
The last two years I have hosted a Halloween Blog Party! This year I have decided to do it again!

DISCLAIMER:
Kara had a good article on Halloween with some really good points. You should check it out. I agree with her on a lot of them. But why am I hosting this?
I like to think of Halloween as the eve before All Saints Day, not a day for "celebrating" death or witchcraft.  But, I am also calling this a costume party and it is twelve days after Halloween so you don't have to relate it to that.
This is a big subject and I mean no harm or offense to anyone.

I mean, what other day can you dress up without being made fun at?

This years dates: November 12-14, 2017!

How it works:
1. You choose a character from a book, movie, or both.
2. You read/watch, the book/movie, that the character came from.
3. You dress up as the character and take pictures (NOTE: You don't have to show your face, I don't).
4. You review the book/movie/both in a post and include photos of you dressed up!!

The Rules:
1. You don't have to do Halloween to participate. I just use Halloween as an excuse to dress up.
2. You don't have to show your face, my sisters and I don't.
3. If there is more than one movie version you don't have to review all of them.
4. If you want you can just choose to review something, OR show pictures, you don't have to do both.

My sisters and I love being the same, but not the same. A few years ago we were all queens. Two years ago, we decided to all be villains. The results were pretty "wicked".
My older sister was: The Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
I was: Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
My younger sister was: Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians)

Last year we were all something "piraty".
My older sister was: The dread pirate Roberts (The Princess Bride)
I was: Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
My younger sister was: A skeleton (I reviewed Halloween Town) [She was our "skull and cross bones"].

This year... we are not anything alike. I really could not think of anything until a three days ago, so I am going to post pictures of us from a few years ago! These buttons are clues to what we are going to be, so I am welcoming guesses! Please take one and share the news!

Sorry, I know they are a little obvious...

Let me know which costume that my sisters or I have worn is your favorite!

  1. I don't think I can participate. BUT I'm looking forward to seeing your costumes and reading the reviews that go with them!! I've got pretty good guesses for the first one and the last one...but the middle one? Stuck there. Guess I'll have to wait and see. :)

    1. Thank you! I hope that you'll enjoy them! The second one is trickier than I thought, both my sisters couldn't figure out what it was for! Once I told them they got it though. Can't wait to see if you are right for the first and third! :)

  2. That is a really cool idea. I enjoy dressing up for Halloween but do not like doing so alone. I will try to get my friends to participate in this!
Looking forward to seeing your costumes!!

To comment, or not to comment? That is the question. Whatever you decide, I would love to hear from you!! I am always open to suggestions, advice, and any other comments! Even if you don't agree with me, I would love to hear from you as long as you keep the comment respectful and on subject. And, please, no swearing. I love comments on old posts!!
My computer won't let me leave comments, so it might take a few days, but I will reply!
