Hello!
I am just here to say that after over two years of typing (not constantly), I have finally finished the list for 1001 Movie You Must See Before You Die. (I didn't come up with the list, I was just copying it from a book).
You can see that page by clicking HERE, clicking the tab at under my header, or clicking on the image on my sidebar.
If you do check it out, let me know how many you have watched. Thanks!

My computer won't let me leave comments, so it might take a few days, but I will reply!

"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, where you stop your story." -Orson Welles
I've seen 22 xD (and this includes the ones you added at the end)
ReplyDeleteNot too bad! I'm glad that the ones I added helped. :D Thanks for your comment Ceci!
DeleteI've seen at least 25, and am going to soonish see about ten more on this list. It was awful how many titles you could't even post on here. š¤ At least with titles so bad, we know to never even attempt to see them!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Cool that you are going to see ten of them soon! When you seem them let me know what you think! It is sad, but I agree: at least we don't have to sit through them now that we know they are bad.
DeleteI have seen 34: (plus part of a few others)
ReplyDeleteAn Affair to Remember (really good!), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Casablanca, A Christmas Story, The Empire Strikes Back, Fantasia, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Gladiator, It's a Wonderful Life, The Jungle Book (but the live-action one was better, just sayin'), Jurassic Park (blah), The Lion King, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Meet the Parents, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, My Fair Lady, Pinocchio, Pretty Woman (In my defense, it does have a good story, despite the parts that requiring some skipping.), The Princess Bride, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rear Window, Return of the Jedi, Roman Holiday <3, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Sound of Music, Spellbound, Star Wars, The Ten Commandments (man, it's long, though), Titanic, Toy Story, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (hate), and The Wizard of Oz.
I have seen part or most of Dumbo, Gone With the Wind (which I hated and refused to watch Part II of), Swing Time, and Top Hat. I have also seen Great Expectations, The Phantom of the Opera, and Wuthering Heights, but not the ones mentioned in the list. So I guess those don't count.
From your extra list, I have seen Ratatouille, The King's Speech, Toy Story 3 (hated), Rango (meh), Frozen, Inside Out, and La La Land.
So I would say I've done pretty well. Of the ones on the list I haven't seen, there are very few I'd want to see anyway. :)
Wow, that is quite a few! Thanks for including the list! :D
DeleteYou have seen several that I haven't seen. Since you say An Affair to Remember is really good, I guess I'll have to watch it. :) Really, you liked the live-action Jungle Book better? I had my doubts about it, but I should watch it soon. I do want to watch The Ten Commandments, but lately I've been watching really long movies so I might take a break before I start another. My dad hates Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, too, and I've always had mixed thoughts about it...
I had to watch all of Gone With the Wind because it was for school, and I will probably have to read the book, but I didn't really like it. I have seen part of Great Expectations, but I'm not sure if it's the version I included.
Ratatouille and The King's Speech = <3. They are two of my favorite movies. My feelings are the same as yours for Toy Story 3 and Rango. I know how much you love La La Land, so I am hoping to watch it soon.
You have done extremely well! I agree, of the remaining, there are few that I actually do want to see... :) Though, you NEED to see Singin' in the Rain!
Oh, yes, I have been meaning to watch SitR because you love it so much! It does sound good. :)
DeleteIt is my favorite movie of all time! The singing, the dancing, the storyline, the cast... all perfect. When you do see it I hope you enjoy it! :D
DeleteI've seen 247 of the official list, and 4 of the ones you added :-) I could also recommend some you will want to cross out that you haven't yet...
ReplyDeleteWhoa! My jaw dropped when I read this! That is awesome. :D Please do! I don't want to watch the bad ones, and if you could tell me I would really appreciate it!
DeleteOkay, I know (either because I've seen them myself or been warned off them by those I trust) that you would not want to watch the following, due to R-worthy "content" like extreme bad language or inappropriate scenes:
Delete37. American Beauty (1999)
51. Apocalypse Now (1979)
89. Being John Malkovich (1999)
129. Body Heat (1981)

884. There's Something About Mary (1998)
921. Trainspotting (1996)
943. The Usual Suspects (1995)
Okay, those are all the ones that popped out at me as either ones I've seen and know you would find inappropriate OR that I've heard enough about to know that I don't want to watch them myself because they're inappropriate! There may be others, but that should help you narrow things down some ;-) If you want, I can also tell you a whole bunch I'm sure you'll really enjoy.
Thank you so much! When I have time I will work on crossing those out. I really appreciate it. You have saved my from hours of movies that I wouldn't like.
DeleteWhen I was looking up what the year they came out for the 1001, I, sadly, noticed that a lot were rated R. I crossed out any that went over that, but I just left the Rs, because that would be half the list. I have seen a few R rated movies, but the only one I like is The King's Speech.
Yes! I would love that too! It is hard to know where to begin with this list, so I would love suggestions!
You're welcome! I will watch some R-rated movies, being an adult and all, but there are some that just nope, they go beyond okayness.

DeleteYay! Thank you so much for the suggestions!! My family actually owns Forrest Gump, Rocky, and To Kill a Mockingbird (the book was great), so now that I know those are some of the great, I will definitely be watching those soon! And, I will have to go to the library to look for the others! Thank you so much again, Hamlette! :D
Ooooooooooh, hope you get a chance to watch those three soon :-)
DeleteThank you, Hamlette! I hope so too! :-)
DeleteWOW, that's a lot of movies! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteI've only watched 38 of them. XD
Thanks, Gray! :D
DeleteNice, you're getting there. Thanks for commenting! :D
