Movie/Series Review: Pride and Prejudice 1995 - Episode Four

Hello, Hello!

We are now over half way through Hamlette's I ❤ Austen Week!!! It has been so much fun so far and we still have a lot of fun to go!!!! Up now is the Fourth Episode of BBC's Pride and Prejudice (1995)!

Pride and Prejudice (1995): Episode Four

This episode starts with a long letter, with a lot explanation. Elizabeth (Lizzy) and Maria go home from visiting Rosing's Park, Lydia gets an invitation, Lizzy visits her aunt and uncle. (Okay, now I'm writing a very disjointed post, but those are the main points in this episode without giving away anything. Sorry.)
"My poor young cousin."
Genre: Romance.
Costumes: 9, They are all so lovely! Lydia's can be a bit low...
My Favorite: The one above and:

Script: 9, once again, that bad word is in there, only once, but still, LYDIA!!!
"Maria, this is your trunk, and your gowns, you may arrange it anyway you wish and Lady Catherine will not know."
Crew:

Screenplay by: Andrew Davies
Based on: Pride and Prejudice - by Jane Austen
Starring:
Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy
Crispin Bonham-Carter as Mr. Bingley
Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet
Benjamin Whitrow as Mr. Bennet
Did I ever mention how much I love Mr. Bennet?
Polly Maberly as Kitty Bennet
Julia Sawalha as Lydia Bennet
Alison Steadman as Mrs. Bennet
Lucy Briers as Mary Bennet
Susannsh Harker as Jane Bennet
Adrian Lukis as Mr. Wickam
David Bamber as Mr. Collins
Music: 10!
Music by: Carl Davis
Quotes: 9, "...for I do not know how I should bear the loss of leaving Lady Catherine's company."
Storyline: 7, this episode makes my heart throb in several places but, there are some iffy (just go with that word, I'm tired) places some pasts are revealed and, well, a certain character had it where they would do WHATEVER they wanted to do and they mention eloping. To go along with the book, I'm not sure what the swiming is all about, but okay.
Overall Score: 8

Make sure to go check out the fun!

  1. What a cute picture of Mr. Bennet! He is always amusing, even if he is a terrible parent :-)
