Hamlette's I ❤ Austen Week has begun!! To start it off, she made this fun tag to fill out! Go check out her tag post here, and her master post HERE.
On to the tag:
Sense and Sensibility 1995. The first time my mom showed it to me was when I was very young. I remember that "her feet got cold" and the ending. Also Sense and Sensibility was the first of her books I read.
2. What is your favorite Austen book?
I have only read three, and Sense and Sensibility and Emma are a tie for first.
This is my favorite cover! |
3. Favorite heroine? Why do you like her best?
My favorite one used to be Emma Woodhouse, but I like the book, but she is not my favorite.
Emma 1996 version Who can't love Elizabeth Bennet? But, I'll go with Elinor Dashwood, I love how sensible she is. And kind, loving, the list goes on! |
See! It even says I'm like her! To take this quiz click HERE, |
4. Favorite hero? Why do you like him best?
Colonel Brandon!!!!! He puts others first, and he's COLONEL BRANDON what other answer do I need? (Alan Rickman) And I also love Fitzwilliam Darcy. He overcomes his pride. ❤! And Mr. Knighley portrayed by Jeremy Northam.
5. Do you have a favorite film adaptation of Austen's work?
Did I not just screech myself hoarse up there!!!?? I also love Pride and Prejudice 1995 and I am so excited to be reviewing it this week!!!!!
6. Have your Austen tastes changed over the years? (Did you start out liking one story best, but now like another better? Did you think she was boring at first, then changed your mind? Etc.)
I used to love Emma, then I didn't like it, now I like it again. Also, depends on the Austen, I'm not a big fan a Persuasion, but I really like all the others.
7. Do you have any cool Austen-themed things (mugs, t-shirts, etc)? (Feel free to share photos if you want.)
Do my sister's things count? She has A Guniea Pig Pride and Prejudice (Reviewed here.) (Gift from me),
and a complete set of all the books. I have a journal that could sort of be called Austente.
8. If you could ask Jane Austen one question, what would you ask her?
Who do you mostly relate to in your characters?
9. Imagine someone is making a new film of any Jane Austen story you choose, and you get to cast the leads. What story do you want filmed, and who would you choose to act in it?
I like the idea of Emma Watson as Elizabeth Bennet, but you can't have a better Darcy.
10. Share up to five favorite Jane Austen quotations!
1.
2.
3.

I am most like Elinor Dashwood, too!:)
ReplyDeleteHello fellow Elinor! :)
DeleteI think S&S95 might have been my introduction to Austen too! Either it or the Paltrow version of Emma -- it's hard to remember :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the party!
The Paltrow version of Emma was my second one, but I didn't know that Sense and Sensibility and Emma were connected!
DeleteYes! It has been fun!
Well, they're not exactly connected, except in my head. I just can't remember which I watched first because I saw them back in the late 1990s when I was a teenager. I feel like I saw S&S95 first, but I could be wrong.
DeleteYeah, connected by that both books are by Jane Austen. Same here, know that I think about it, I might have seen Emma first, but I'm pretty sure I saw S&S95 first.
Delete2. Now I'm curious. What's the third Jane Austen book you've read?
ReplyDelete3. Oh! It really is hard to choose a favorite, isn't it? Elinor is an amazing character, though. Nice choice. :)
8. Ohhh! I like that question. That would be very interesting to know.
Northanger Abbey.
DeleteOh it defenetly is!!! Thank you!
Yeah, I think it would be! Whether it's a side character or a hero or a heroine.
I really like Elinor Dashwood, too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the quotes that you shared!
Oh how cool! :)
DeleteThank you, I really love them!
I love Colonel Brandon too! Although, I think I might be more like Marianne, in the sense of how strongly I feel things. If you haven't seen the 2008 S&S you definitely should! It's hard to beat such a stellar cast as was in the first film, but it is still worth watching - there are a few parts that are actually closer to the book. :)
ReplyDelete:D Colonel Brandon! I might be more like Marianne too it that sense. I keep planning to see the 2008 S&S, but I can't get it any where. I have heard that it is closer so I think that I would like it!
