Way back in November, Ruth at Amongst Spring Blossoms tagged me with the #CoverLoveTag! Since it is February I thought I had better get around to it! Go check out Ruth's answers HERE.
Note, I am a terrible photographer! So sorry about that!

A book cover featuring a gorgeous dress:
Little Women - by Louisa May Alcott. There are several pretty dresses!
Sorry, I didn't mean for this to be so crooked! |
Ruby Holler - by Shannon Creech. It has been a long time since I read this, but I remember liking it!
A book cover that's ''well-loved'':
Island of the Blue Dolphins - by Scott O'Dell. If I remember correctly, this was my first (or one of my first) novels that I read. My mom, sisters and I have all used this copy and it is very "well-loved".
A book cover that just makes you smile:
The Wizard of Oz - by L. Frank Baum. This was another of the first novels that I read. I just devoured this whole series, but I'll always love this one the most! It just makes me so happy to think about it! Another one that is "well-loved".
A book cover that is your favorite color:
The Book Jumper - by Mechthild Gläsar. It wasn't perfect, but it had an interesting idea! I chose this one because blue is the best. color. ever! Those of you who saw this blog in the first month of its going will know that I am obsessed with blue. It is a very rare day when I am not wearing blue!
Plus, this cover is awesome.
A cover of a book with fond memories attached to it:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - by J. K. Rowling. My mom read my sisters and I the Harry Potter books individually, so I have always related special bonding time with my mom to these books. I chose this one because it is yellow and every time my mom read it to me or even when we talk about it now we call it Harry Potter and the Deathly Yellows.
A book you wanted solely for the cover:
The Two Princesses of Bamarre - by Gail Carson Levine. There is this used bookstore in a town that my family goes to a lot, but we rarely have time to go there. Every time we do, my mom lets each of my two sisters and I get a book. One time, my older sister and I convinced her to get this because we thought the dark haired girl (Addie) looked like her and the blond girl (Meryl) looked like me.
I tag:
Hamlette
And anyone else who has bought a book in the last week!
I'll just put the same questions because they were good ones!:

Ah! The Two Princesses of Bamarre! That was a good one and yes, the girls on the cover look a bit like you all!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good, though, a lot of tears are shed! Thanks. :) Though, now I think Meryl looks more like F than me.
DeleteI remember loving Island of the Blue Dolphin.
ReplyDeleteYou, too? Awesome! It's so good!
DeleteOh, this is a fun one! Thanks for tagging me with it! Might be a little while before I do it, though, since I'm busy with the Shakespeare party this week.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I've read Deathly Hallows (same cover), Wizard of Oz (different cover), Island of the Blue Dolphins (different cover), and Little Women (several different covers).
DeleteSure thing. :) Yes, your Shakespeare party is so fun so far! I still have my two other entries to get up, so I'm glad that it is a week long!
DeleteThose are all good ones! There are so many covers for TWoO,I tried to count one time, but lost track! I've only ever seen one other cover for IotBD, but I like both of them. Sereval different covers of Little Women? How many times have you read it?
I'm glad you've been having fun! I'm working on totting up scores on the games, and so far, you have the highest score on one of them! Way to go!
DeleteI've read Little Women over and over and over. I probably read it 6 or 7 times as a tween/teen, and at least twice as an adult. I used to have a sort of yellow paperback, plus a movie-tie-in one that had pictures from the 1978 made-for-tv movie version. Wish I still had that one. But now I have a hardcover copy from Barnes & Noble.
Whoa! Really!? I don't think I've ever scored very high! My sister has read a lot (well, more than me) of Shakespeare and likes to quiz me and tell me random facts, so I guess some of it has stuck!
DeleteWhhaat!? That is amazing!! I've only read it once and it took me all of Dec. 2014 to finish it! You are really familiar with the story, then! I really want to reread it sometime, but I can never find the time. Those sound like pretty editions! I've only seen images from the 1978 version, but I love all of the costumes! My sister had another version, but it was "juniorized" and ended after Beth recovered! After that my mom got this copy for us.
What we now call Little Women was originally published as two separate books! First came Little Women, which ended about where Beth gets better, before anyone is married. A few years later, she wrote a sequel called Little Wives that was about them all as an adult. But now we usually smoosh them all together into one book and call the whole thing Little Women.
DeleteReally!? Wow, I did not know that! You learn something new everyday. That makes sense, after the first half it seems like a really nice ending. But, I do like the whole thing put together because Pr. Bhaer is one of my favorites! Interesting though! :-)
DeleteYup. I led a read-along of LW a few years ago, which is when I learned that myself.
DeleteI love Professor Bhaer!!!
I just looked at your blog and saw that you hosted it in March! That was the perfect month to do so! :-)
DeleteHe is in my top five favorite characters from LW!!
