Movie/Series Review: Robin Hood BBC: Season 1, Episode 11: "Dead man walking"

Hello Everybody!
Welcome back after a bit of a break to my Robin Hood BBC watch-along!

How it works:
If you want to join, go ahead! All you have to do is watch the episode for the day, then if you want do a post on it, or just comment on someone Else's post about it!
In my reviews for this series, I am only going to list the top ten featured characters in that episode.

My guarantee: On ALL of my reviews there are NO spoilers unless it says so. But the comments will have spoilers.

Robin Hood BBC: Season 1, Episode 11: "Dead man walking" (2006):

Based on the Robin Hood legends:
"We can't help everyone."
In a rage, Little John attacks a solders cart full of prisoners, but there are too many of them and he is captured. He is brought to Nottingham where the Sheriff has plans for a "festival of pain". Will Robin Hood get Little John out in time, and get the tax money back?
"Don't do that!"

Genre: Action, Adventure, Period Drama, Romance.
Costumes: 8, I'm not sure how accurate some of them are.
My favorite:

(Marian, not Guy.)
Script: 9, "Not a big change, then."

Crew:
Directed by: Graeme Harper
Created by:
Foz Allan
Dominic Minghella

Starring:
1. Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood. "Are you Robin Hood?"
2. Keith Allan as Vaisey, Sheriff of Nottingham. "Good answer."

3. Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisbourne.

4. Gordon Kennedy as Little John.
5. Juliet Seal as Alice.

6. Clem Tibber as Little, Little, John.
7. Steven Elder as Luke.
8. Joe Armstrong as Allan a Dale. "Don't over do it, Allan!"
9. Harry Lloyd as Will Scarlet.
10. Lucy Griffiths as Maid Marian.
"We few have proved quite effective in the past."

Music: 10!
Music by: Andy Price.
Quotes: 9, "You're still my friend."
Storyline: 8, there is some fighting, a tiny suggestive thing, and a little bit of torture, but it is Robin Hood, and how can you go wrong with the Robin Hood story!?

Good For: Robin Hood fans!

It worked again!!!
Overall Score: 9!

Thank you for reading! What do you think of this episode?

  1. I didn't like Alice. (Really, that's the first thing that comes into my mind?) And I didn't really like John in this episode(I actually don't like him in any episode, except for a few). This was were Allan and Robin threw money all over the place. The faces they make ;) Overall score 9!! Episode 11 ran away with the prize (for now)!
'I will not give up on anyone.'
'You might discover it is too late for some.' I think Robin believed Marian was talking about herself, and she only realized it later and tried to make it clear that she was talking about the prisoners, not about herself. (But I think that she WAS talking about herself, at least for a part)
Well, got to go! It's great to bring up memories to Robin Hood BBC again!

    1. I know, she wasn't really that nice. I didn't really like her either. And, Little John isn't one of my favorite characters either. I had forgotten about that until I watched it this time! They are so fun!
Yes, it is because there isn't as much fighting as there is in other episodes, but this isn't really one of my favorite episodes except the part where Marian is talking to Robin. Yes, now that you metion that I do think she was talking about herself.
Yes! Thank you so much for talking it over with me! I love your imput!!

  2. I don't like Alice. She isn't really nice and quite annoying. Nor did I liked John in this episode. How can he be so stupid to be captured. I know he was trying to save his son, but just wait and go to Robin. I would do that. The festival of pain was quite awful. Of course they wouldn't do it real, Robin saved them just on time. It was really hilarious to see the sherrif on that wheel. :D
I loved the part where Robin and Allan threw money all over the ground. Those faces. :)

It was good to bring back those memories of Robin Hood bbc. I am not a big fan, but I love all of the series.

    1. Me too. I think she could have been kinder! John wasn't thinking! If John and Robin had attacked, they would have had a better chance, instead of John knocking Robin out.
I am really glad that Robin stopped it! :D
It was really good of them! And Robin loves to do things in style! :)

It is so fun to share them with you! I love being able to talk about this series!
