Movie/Series Review: Robin Hood BBC: Season 1, Episode 6: "The Tax Man Cometh"

Hello!
Here we are for the sixth episode of my Robin Hood BBC watch-along! What do you think of this episode?

How it works:
If you want to join, go ahead! All you have to do is watch the episode for the day, then if you want do a post on it, or just comment on someone Else's post about it!
In my reviews for this series, I am only going to list the top ten featured characters in that episode.

My guarantee: On ALL of my reviews there are NO spoilers unless it says so.

Robin Hood BBC: Season 1, Episode 6, "The Tax Man Cometh" (2006):

Based on the Robin Hood legends:
"Well, in the real world things don't always add up."
When Robin Hood and his Merry Men, stop a cart going to market and find that it is actually a tax man, Robin gets an idea of how to get into the castle to get all the taxes to give them to the people.
"What are you trying to do, feed the world?"
"Don't give me ideas."

Genre: Action, Adventure, Period Drama, Romance.
Costumes: 6, some of the clothes don't really fit into the time period.
My favorite:
Script: 8, "Look, I don't suppose it's any good telling you to hurry up?"
Crew:
Directed by: Richard Standeven
Created by:
Dominic Minghella
Foz Allan
Starring:
1. Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood

2. Keith Allan as Vaisey, Sheriff of Notingham
3. Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisbourne
4. Tom Beard as Flaxton.
5. Ryan Winsley as Cedric
6. Nikki Amuka-Bird as the Abbess

7. Lucy Griffiths as Maid Marian

8. Harry Lloyd as Will Scarlet
9. Sam Throughton as Much
10. Gordon Kennedy as Little John
"Now you see what I have to put up with."
Music: 10! As always.
Music by: Andy Price
Quotes: 9, "Outlaws in the storeroom."

Storyline: 5, There are some things to do with religion where Vaisey says he doesn't believe, and there are, let's just say somethings. Also, there is death, disgusting stuff, fighting, kissing, suggestive stuff. "That is weird."
"I have never understood that."

Good For: Robin Hood fans!
Overall Score: 7!

I'm sorry there are not a lot of pictures in this post, I could barely find any, and the ones I could find were mostly of Guy and Marian.
Thanks for reading!

  1. I didn't like this episode so very much, some how. What I did like was that Edward finally accepted that Marian wanted to help the poor as the Nightwatchman. That she was who she was.
'What are you trying to do, feed the world?'
'Don't give me ideas.' Love that. That's so funny.
'Look, I don't suppose it's any good telling you to hurry up?' That was Allan who said that, right? He often starts his sentences with ''Look'' :)

    1. Yes! Same! It isn't one of my favorite episodes, but I love that Edward accepted Marian. I love the scene where Edward didn't need to agree to her terms, but he did!
That is Much saying it to Will, when Will is trying to make a key out of the chests.
Thank you so much for your comment Ruth!

  2. I did not liked this episode. It was quite weird, with the nun and the tax man. Not my favourite episode.
What I did like, just like Ruth said, that Edward finally excepted that Marian wants to help the poor, playing the Nightwatchman. Which I would definitely do if I was living in the middle ages.

    1. It is a very weird episode. I, too, did not really like it.

But, that was a really good scene! "That, I like." :) That would me sort of fun being a mystery person helping the poor! I probably would do that too, if I had lived then.

      Thanks for your comment, Rachel!
