Hello and happy November friends!
A new month means it's time to write a novel it's the end of INKtober! This challenge through the month of October is to draw something in ink each day, and me being as obsessed with stories as I am, my muse is movies.
And because guessing games are one of my favorite things, for the second year I'm sharing my sketches with the challenge for all of you to guess where my inspiration (or INKspiration...) came from!
How it works: Each of these drawings comes from a scene in a movie. Comment on this post (comments will be put on moderation so everyone gets a fair chance!) if you think you know the inspiration for any of these drawings.
It's that simple! Check out my recap from INKtober 2025 to get a feel for my style and see how far I've come in drawing in a year. Hint: it turns out I tend to draw from the same movies. In fact, 7 from this year use the same movies/movie series from last year...and one of them even on the same day in the month..
This is about engaging with the creative process and having fun with it. So don't be afraid of guessing something wrong! Throw out whatever guesses speak to you! I love to hear what you think it looks like because it can tell me what I'm conveying. It helps my skills grow!
Final note: sorry about the off quality of some of the photos! I forgot that today was the time change so it was darker than I thought it was going to be when I'd planned to do this. Additionally it was raining all day so lighting was just not good. For the reveal I'll try to get rid of some of those shadows!

Note: I don't know if you guys can see the white-out, but I messed up big time on this one. So I went and redid it, but really quickly I did a study on a different piece of paper to see if I could draw her face. The study is bigger than the entire first page so I can't put them together, but here it is as another angle for her.
Neither is quite right, but I can live with it.

Now, some of you might look at the prompt then look at what I drew and wonder how I got there.
At times it's kind of like playing 6 Degrees of Separation between the prompt and my end result.
Sometimes I don't even know how I came up with the end result but once I found something that felt right, I just went with it, regardless of how aligned it was with the prompt. My family was also really helpful at suggesting ideas when I was close to pulling my hair out, so props to them!
Bonus points:
Because this is a very eclectic mix (some famous films, some extremely niche films!), I'm happy to deal out bonus (full or partial) points for (but not limited to) the following:
- Guessing which drawing took me the longest time and which took me the shortest time.
- Think you know a line of dialogue from the movie that matches the prompt? Say it! (as you can see, sometimes I write the line of dialogue right on there).
- Think you know the actor(s) if not the movie? Name 'em!
- If you think you know what series or universe one of the movies is part of (even if you don't know the exact one), give it a shot!
- There are 30 movies (and/or mini series'...) instead of 31, because one movie is repeated (I was so tired, y'all XD). I'll give you a clue, the repeat is Day 29. If you can guess which other picture goes with #29, you get a point!
- Most creative wrong guess. ^_^
- Also, tell me which is your favorite and least favorite and I'll dish out some points for those, too.
- In addition to you guys getting points, I'll crown the picture with the most correct guesses the winner of this year's INKtober.
You have until December 1st, 2026 to guess and the answers will be revealed after then.
